SCLT Staff

Executive Director: Colin Betzler

Hello Sheridan County!

I was hired by the SCLT in May of ’09 and officially began June 2, 2009.  I am originally from Duluth Minnesota, a small city on the shores of Lake Superior but headed west for college, looking for mountains and rivers and finding Montana State University in Bozeman.  I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Earth Science (Geography) as well as a second major in Spanish.  I worked as an intern with the Bureau of Land Management out of the Kemmerer Wyoming Field office, then as an Environmental Planning Specialist with the BLM’s Montana State Office in Billings.  My most recent employment was with the City of Buffalo where I worked as the Assistant Planner and then City Planner during the last 2.5 years.

I first came to NE Wyoming as a college student on summer break, working as a fishing guide on a local dude ranch.  After a wonderful summer experiencing the full flavor of Sheridan County, I promised myself that if I was ever lucky enough to find a job in the area, I would move in a heartbeat…and three years ago I did!  My wife Emily and I have lived in Sheridan since our return to NE Wyoming and we have fallen in love with the wonderful community we’ve found here.

I want to personally thank you for your interest in the Sheridan Community Land Trust.  We are looking forward to further successes this fiscal year and invite you to partner with us in any number of ways to continue positively impacting Sheridan County’s natural, historic, recreation, and economic resources.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you see anything on the website that peaks your interest.

See you around town!

Colin
