Join us for the 6th Annual Biketoberfest on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds on West 5th Street! Choose from our traditional 15-mile Mountain Bike Race and 7-mile Trail Run, or 4-mile Fun Run/Bike Race.

This year we added two new events that will take place following the traditional races:

  • a competitive Fat Bike Relay (bike provided) with teams of four riding ½-mile loops around the racetrack for a total of 2 miles
  • the Lederhosen-500 Costume relay: a fun, friendly, and easy biking option!

The morning races will be complete in time for everyone to also do a relay. All races start and end at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds where fun, food trucks, and Black Tooth Brewing Company beer (21+) await!

The 15 and 7-mile races utilize SCLT’s Soldier Ridge Trail, which was completed in 2012 and offers great views of the Bighorns, challenging climbs and fast downhills, plus a little mud. The 4-mile race follows Hidden Bridge Golf Course cart paths, which are now graveled, so strollers and bike trailers are welcome.

After the individual races, the Fat Bike relay will take place on the dirt track at the Fairgrounds with each of the four team members taking one lap (1/2 mile) for a total of 2 miles. One Fat Bike will be provided per team.

The Lederhosen-500 Costume Relay will take place behind the Grand Stand. Each member of the four-person team will complete one lap for a team-total of 1 kilometer. Prizes for winners and best costumes. (All costumes welcome.)

Throughout the morning, we’ll have fun activities for the whole family. Make sure your kids bring their bikes so they can test their skills and win prizes in Exhibit Hall during the Kids’ Bike Rodeo!

Don’t want to race? Sign up for the Black Tooth Zero-Miler to support our trails (and get a race T-shirt and beer tokens!). Everyone is a winner in the Zero-Miler; no racing required. Afterward, head to the Fairgrounds to enjoy lunch and cheer on the relay teams.

Haven’t been on your bike in a while? This year, volunteer bike gurus will be available beginning at 9am at the Fairgrounds to help you tune-up your iron-horse just in time to participate in the 4-mile fun ride or Lederhosen relay.

We hope to see you and your friends at Biketoberfest this October! All proceeds stay in the community to support SCLT access projects like the Red Grade Trails System, the existing Soldier Ridge Trail, and the Tongue River Water Trail.
