Offered by the American Avalanche Institute, this course is a focused day of rescue practice and learning.

This course will cover rescue fundamentals, such as survival statistics, survival strategies, and first response tactics..

Learn from experts on Friday night and perfect those skills on the mountain Saturday or Sunday.

Classroom training is Friday, February 24 from 6-8 pm @ the University of Wyoming Watt Agriculture Center at Sheridan College.

Field training is at Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area on Saturday, February 25 or Sunday, February 26.

Limited to 48 participants, with 24 max each field training day. Choose field training day at registration. This training is available at no cost thanks to the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center.

DIRECTIONS to Watt Ag Center (1090 Dome Loop)

  • Take Exit 25 off I-90
  • Turn West onto E. Brundage Lane
  • Turn South (left) onto Coffeen Ave.
  • Turn East (left) onto Dome Loop (this will be last entrance to Sheridan College campus)
  • Once on Dome Loop, UW Watt building will be on your South (right) side.
