Explore History: Dude Ranching in the Bighorns

The Hub on Smith and Sheridan Community Land Trust invite our community to Explore History as the first of our monthly history programs begins September 14 at The Hub.

This month’s program is Dude Ranching in the Bighorns. SCLT Historical Program Manager Carrie Edinger will tell the story of dude ranching history in the Bighorns, with a special focus on the life and legacies of Jessamine and Elsa Spear of Spear-O, Margi Schroth of HF Bar Ranch, Eleanor Donnelly of Folly Ranch, Mabel Lee Meldrum of Paradise Ranch.

Carrie will be joined by Nan Fogel and Sarah Mentock, whose family operated the Valley Ranch. They will talk about what life was like on a working dude ranch.

Participants are invited to share their memories as we reminisce, learn, and connect with our region’s rich history. The timeline, Dude Ranch History of the Bighorns, will be on display to view as well.

Join us for Dude Ranching in the Bighorns on Tuesday, September 14 at The Hub on Smith from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Explore History programs will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at The Hub on Smith at 10:30 a.m. The Hub invites attendees to join them for lunch after the program’s conclusion.

Explore History has been made possible thanks to the generous support of The NextFifty Initiative.

The event is finished.
