Explore History: Women Who Influenced Southeastern Sheridan County

Explore History: Women Who Influenced Southeastern Sheridan County

Join us for our next Explore History program as dive into the history of Women Who Influenced Southeastern Sheridan County.

From homesteaders to women who owned businesses, this program will explore how women influenced the development of the southeastern Sheridan County area. Early women homesteaders were part of the development of a short-lived town named Huson as well as filing for their patent at a range of ages. The program will also have a focus on the Clearmont area and we will learn about women who were a mercantile owner, doctor and school teacher. Members of the Clearmont Historical Group and the Sheridan Community Land Trust Historical Program Manager, Carrie Edinger will co-present these fascinating stories through the early stages of southeastern Sheridan County.

Explore History is a collaboration between The Hub on Smith and Sheridan Community Land Trust.

Explore History programs will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at The Hub on Smith at 10:30 a.m. The Hub invites attendees to join them for lunch after the program’s conclusion.

Explore History has been made possible thanks to the generous support of The NextFifty Initiative.
