Once-monthly creative outdoor programs for kids and their families!
- Friday through Saturday, August 19th – 20th @ 5:30pm: UNPLUG for August: Bluegrass, S’mores, and Campout in Kendrick Park!
Bring your instruments, camp chairs, flashlights, binoculars, and camping gear and set up in the grassy area in front of the band shell. Look forward to s’mores, a bluegrass jam with local musicians, flashlight tag, moon gazing, bat spotting, a scavenger hunt, and an optional over night camp-out in the park. This is a great opportunity to introduce your kids to camping in a fun and safe environment. Breakfast Saturday morning provided from 7 am – 8 am for campers.
- Wednesday, September 28th @ 4:30pm, Dayton Bicentennial Park – UNPLUG for September: Mud, Bugs and Fish!
Get hands-on with the Wyoming Game & Fish stream trailer (an educational tool that demonstrates how the natural movement of streams and rivers works), learn about fish with Trout Unlimited, do a cool water quality experiment with Sheridan County Conservation District, and help out as our local aquatic entomologist gets up close and personal with water bugs!
- Sunday, October 23rd @ 1pm, Red Grade Trails: Shovels & Spades!
Head up to Red Grade Trails to have fun, check out Sheridan Community Land Trust’s tool trailer, and learn what it takes to keep a beautiful place looking great!

Grab your sneakers and meet the Penrose Pacers at Red Grade Trails to learn about trail running from a local group that hoofs it all around the county!
