The skid steer and tools will also aid trail construction and maintenance.
Recreation Program
- $100 or less – Hand tools. We have so many great community members who volunteer that we sometimes don’t have tools for them all
- ($57) McLeod tool. This is a standard tool for trail building and maintenance. More are needed for volunteer events.
- Pick Mattock and hoe. The soil here can be nearly rock hard at times, this is what we use to reshape the dirt for our purposes.
- ($78) Pick Mattock
- ($102) Prohoe
- ($72) Prohoe Highlander
- Rakes. Hard tooth and springy rakes are vital for trail construction and maintenance. From smoothing out rough spots to clearing drains plugged with pine needles.
- ($34) Rake
- ($26) Steel Bow Rake
- ($41) Tampers. Repacking the trail tread will help it last longer.
- ($35) Debarking tool. To use on site logs for trail features, we need to remove the bark for them to last as long as possible.
- Rock sling. We use larger rocks to make cool trail features, but sometimes they are just too heavy or too far away. For human and mini-x use.
- ($95) Haul All
- ($115) Rock Belt
- ($115) Rock Hammock
- $265 or less – Routers for making our own signs. Many of our signs could be made from natural materials that exist along the trails such as downed trees, sign frames could be enhanced with trail names, and signs could be repainted when faded rather than replaced. A compact for doing detailed work and a mid size for larger jobs.
- ($265) Router
- ($69) Router template
- $1,000 or less
- ($895) Trail multi tool. Jared only has the two hands, but this is 6 in 1 to make the most out of every trip on the trail
- Trail bike. We are looking for a hardtail bike for mounting trail tools on so we can get those maintenance tasks done quicker!
- $5,000 – Lawn Mower to help maintain enjoyable and safe nature trails and open spaces at BGNA.
- $10,000 – Red Grade Trails – Direct support to fund trailhead improvements, trail construction, and damage repairs.
