Trail Assistant
Part-Time, Flexible, $20/hour
Help shape the future of community trails through hands-on maintenance, construction, and volunteer coordination. This flexible, year-round position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work and mentoring others in trail stewardship. We are hiring the “right” person and will work with that person’s availability.
Ideal for: A self-motivated, outdoors-oriented person who likes leading by example and working with volunteers.

Trail Technician
Part-Time, $20/hour, several available
Have occasional or regular free time and love caring for our outdoors? This is the job for you! Play a key role in keeping SCLT’s trail systems safe, sustainable, and enjoyable. Trail Technicians work outdoors maintaining and building trails, operating tools and equipment, and supporting volunteers across Sheridan County. Flexible schedule, mostly late spring through early fall.
Ideal for: Someone with construction or outdoor work experience who enjoys hands-on projects and working independently in the field.

Recreation Intern
Up to 480 hours, $18/hour, 3 available
Get hands-on experience building and maintaining community trails, working on conservation projects, and leading volunteers outdoors. This paid internship is ideal for students who want real-world skills in recreation, conservation, and public engagement. Work is regular schedule, mostly late spring through early fall.
Ideal for: Students who love working outdoors, learning by doing, and gaining practical experience in conservation and recreation.

History & Outreach Assistant
Part-Time, $20/hour
Help bring local history to life while connecting people to land, trails, and place. This flexible, year-round position blends research, storytelling, public programs, and community engagement to support SCLT’s growing history program and Welcome Center.
Ideal for: Someone who enjoys research, public-facing work, and sharing local stories through programs, exhibits, and community events.
