Explore History Weekend: Women Who Influenced Southeastern Sheridan County

From homesteaders to women who owned businesses, this program will explore how women influenced the development of the southeastern Sheridan County area. Early women homesteaders were part of the development of a short-lived town named Huson as well as filing for their patent at a range of ages. The program will also have a focus on the Clearmont area and we will learn about women who were a mercantile owner, doctor and school teacher. Members of the Clearmont Historical Group and the Sheridan Community Land Trust Historical Program Manager, Carrie Edinger will co-present these fascinating stories about the early stages of southeastern Sheridan County.

This Explore History program will be held as part of the Big Horn City Historical Society meeting. Carry in potluck lunch starting at 1:00pm and history program to follow at 2:00 p.m. Please consider bringing a salad or dessert or main dish or rolls to share with the group. The historical society appreciates everyone’s help in setting up and closing down.
