Discovery Session: Bats in the Field

Discovery Session: Bats in the Field

Join us for this unique opportunity to see bat biologists collect vital information about bats in the Goose Valley. You will learn all about bat research and conservation efforts in the Bighorns from Julia Yearout and her team from the Bernard Research Lab at the University of Wyoming. You will also have an opportunity to observe and listen to bats in the wild and see how researchers collect bats. If you choose to stay later with us, you can see the researchers in action and, may even see beautiful, misunderstood mammals up close.

When: Friday, September 6. The bat program is from 6-7 p.m. The bat collection begins at about 7:30 p.m. and will continue until completion. Attendees are welcome to stay to see how bat researchers collect data to help local bats!

Where: SCLT Office at Bridges, 14 Lane Lane.

What to bring: A headlamp, water, light long sleeves and pants, and bug spray are recommended. Bats eat bugs like mosquitoes, so we will be near the creek, where we are likely to encounter bugs.

This Discovery Session is free to attend and open to all. Limited to 30 attendees.

The event is finished.
