- Mission: The Powder River Coalition (PRC) will implement boots-on-the-ground work, on private and public lands, and prioritize landscape connectivity, habitat, sustainable land use, and research through the collaborative efforts of PRC partners.
- Goal: To support conservation delivery to the natural ecosystems in the Powder River Basin
Who is the Powder River Coalition?
The Powder River Coalition (PRC) is a collaborative partnership of agencies and organizations working together to implement boots-on-the-ground conservation work across the Powder River Basin. Our mission is to prioritize landscape connectivity, habitat, sustainable land use, and research through the coordinated efforts of PRC partners on both private and public lands.
Objective 1. Develop a network of conservation professionals in the Powder River Basin where science, education, and collaboration combine to increase synergy of conservation efforts and strategies.
Objective 2: Highlight the conservation needs and ongoing work to develop interest in conservation efforts in the Powder River Basin.
Objective 3: Coordinate the delivery of resources on the ground through collaboration of individual PRC partners.
Where does the Powder River Coalition work?
The Powder River Coalition works on both private and public lands within the Powder River Basin in northeast Wyoming and southeastern Montana.
Projects are implemented across ownership boundaries through the cooperation of partner organizations and landowners.

What does the Powder River Coalition do?
The Powder River Coalition implements boots on the ground projects that focus on:
- Landscape connectivity
- Fence removal, modifications and rebuilds to wildlife friendlier specs
- Habitat
- Encroaching conifer control
- Invasive annual grass control
- Riparian enhancements
- Sustainable land use
- Virtual fencing support
- Invasive species management
- Private landowner support
- Research
- Migrations and movement
- Wildlife mortality
Projects are carried out through collaboration among PRC partners.
