SCLT Discovery Session: Big Goose Natural Area Tour
Join SCLT Director of Conservation John Graves for a tour of the newly opened SCLT Big Goose Natural Area. The property unfolds across approximately 117 acres, boasting a diverse landscape that includes grassy pastures, upland range, and riparian lowlands, as well as cottonwoods along Big Goose Creek. It is actively ranched, and home to an array of wildlife while welcoming the public to connect with history, nature, and the outdoors. You will learn how SCLT is stewarding this resource on the edge of our growing community, ensuring it remains open, accessible, and working for generations to come.
When: Saturday, May 10, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Where: SCLT Big Goose Natural Area, located at 14 Lane Ln, Sheridan.
What to bring: Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes or boots. We recommend dressing in layers and wearing long sleeves and pants. Please bring a water bottle and sun protection. Bug spray may come in handy. We will be walking on uneven ground and possibly in grass and brush. Ticks, mosquitoes, and rattlesnakes are all present at the SCLT Big Goose Natural Area.
