Join Sheridan Community Land Trust for Explore History: The Flyboys of Bomber Mountain, held May 14, 2024.
In the summer of 1945, cowboys were rounding up their cattle in the Bighorn Mountains. They noticed something shining on top of a ridge. They found the wreckage of a B-17 Bomber. In this Explore History program held May 14, 2024, from The Hub on Smith in Sheridan, Sylvia Bruner of the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo, tells the story informed by a decade of research of the ten men on board the B-17 Bomber that had taken off two years earlier and never returned.
