We recognize gifts totaling $1,000 or more over the course of the fiscal year (July – June) as our Visionary Circle. As part of the Visionary Circle you will be invited to private thank you events, receive special recognition in our Annual Report, and make huge positive impacts in the community.
You are welcome to make your gift all at once or throughout the year; it’s up to you.
Donations submitted through donation forms on this site are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and are processed in U.S. dollars. Helpful Items SCLT Programs Need Most
Make a difference today by helping SCLT programs secure what is needed most. If you want to make any of these items a reality, please specify the item(s) you would like to support with a note when you make your gift. Conservation Program & Big Goose Natural Area
- $1,000 or less – An entryway bench seat for people to watch and learn about birds and wildlife, binoculars for bird and wildlife watching, hanging bird feeders, feed and storage totes, local skulls, furs, and fossils for a touch table in what will be our learning center.
- $1,000 or less – Fencing pliers, gloves, and other fencing tools/supplies for wildlife-friendly fence projects and chainsaw blades for invasive species removal at the Big Goose Natural Area.
- $60,000 or more – Skid steer and attachments like a post pounder, snow plow, bucket, brush hog, and wire winder for stewardship projects at the Big Goose Natural Area, habitat improvement, wildlife-friendly fence, and wet meadow restoration work. The skid steer and tools will also aid trail construction and maintenance.
Recreation Program
- $1,000 or less – Hand tools. We have so many great community members who volunteer that we sometimes don’t have tools for them all!
- McLeods, pick mattocks, compactors, rakes, shovels, loppers, hand saws, post-hole diggers, and more.
- $5,000 – Lawn Mower & Trimmer – To help maintain enjoyable and safe nature trails and open spaces at BGNA.
- $10,000 – Red Grade Trails – Direct support to fund trailhead improvements, trail construction, and damage repairs.
History Program
$1,000 or less Donation:
- Research and Documentation: Fund local history research, such as conducting interviews or studying historical records to help preserve stories of the region’s past.
- Publications: Help produce pamphlets, booklets, or online articles highlighting important historical events, figures, or places. This could also include costs for graphic design and printing.
- Educational Materials: Support the creation of educational resources for local schools or museums, such as historical timelines, maps, or other engaging visual aids.
- Digital History Stories: Covers costs associated with expanding SCLT’s growing library of digital history stories told through GPS-based tours, virtual tours, Sheridan County StoryCorps, #TBTs, and more.
- Registration and Travel to Land Trust Alliance Rally: This will allow Kevin to travel to the premiere national conference where he can learn from colleagues around the country, bring ideas back, and implement them here in Sheridan County. SCLT also applies for scholarships so its staff can attend important training conferences like Rally.
$5,000 Donation:
- Historic Site Preservation: Contribute to preserving or maintaining a historic building, structure, or site in the community. This could cover the costs of consultation, repairs, or improvements to ensure the site remains accessible and functional for future generations.
- National Register of Historic Places: Covers the costs to nominate a property to the National Register of Historic Places.
- Public Events: Fund community events or workshops on local history, such as Explore History lectures, walking tours, or film screenings. This donation could cover honoraria for guest speakers, venue rentals, or event promotion.
- Oral History Projects: Support the development of an oral history archive where local community members can share their personal stories and experiences. This could cover interview costs, audio/video recording equipment, and transcription services.
$10,000 Donation:
- Endowment for Ongoing Historical Programming: Establish an endowment that provides long-term funding for the history program, ensuring that the program can continue to research, share, and preserve the area’s history well into the future.
- Historic Preservation Projects: Fund a large-scale preservation project, such as restoring a historic building, structure, or landscape at risk of being lost. This could also support efforts to designate a site as historically significant, securing its protection.
