Step Back in Time with a Special Saturday Explore History Tour of Fort Mackenzie

Sheridan Community Land Trust is excited to announce a special Saturday edition of its popular Explore History program, offering a rare opportunity to tour the Fort Mackenzie Historic District on Saturday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

First established as a military outpost and later transformed into a veterans hospital, Fort Mackenzie has been a cornerstone of our community for more than 125 years. Now, history buffs and curious community members alike can discover its rich past and striking architecture through the eyes of VA Historian Thomas Hatch, who will lead this fascinating guided tour.

This Explore History program is free and open to everyone. Don’t miss your chance to walk the historic grounds, learn the stories that shaped Sheridan, and experience one of our community’s most enduring landmarks in a whole new way.

📍 Location: Sheridan VA Medical Center, located at 1898 Fort Rd. Please meet us at Parking Lot 6. It is the first parking lot on your left as you come into the campus from Fort Road. See the image below for a map of the campus.
