Ventenata & Medusahead Workshop

Ventenata & Medusahead Workshop

Ventenata and medusahead are two invasive annual grasses spreading across the West and threatening Wyoming’s rangelands. These invasive species reduce forage for livestock and wildlife, degrade habitat, and increase wildfire risk.

Join the Wyoming Invasive Grasses Working Group for a free workshop designed for landowners, land managers, agricultural producers, natural resource professionals, and anyone interested in protecting Wyoming’s working lands. Participants will learn how to identify these invasive grasses, understand the latest science, and explore practical management strategies for limiting their spread.

This year’s workshop also celebrates 10 years of collaborative work across Wyoming. During the past decade, partners have surveyed and treated more than 400,000 acres, invested nearly $30 million in management efforts, and advanced research and monitoring to improve the long-term health of Wyoming’s rangelands.

The workshop includes both classroom presentations and a field session, giving attendees the opportunity to learn from researchers, land managers, and fellow landowners while seeing identification and management techniques firsthand.

Lunch will be provided.
