Since the Soldier Ridge Trail opened in 2012, we have been encouraged by countless comments in our trail log that express visitors’ gratitude and excitement. Trails and open space are central to healthy communities and like you, we want more here!
With your help, we have the opportunity to create another wonderful resource, 33 miles of non-motorized trails in our backyard. Located close to Sheridan and Big Horn on public lands, the Red Grade Trails System will offer spectacular scenery and solitude for hikers, bikers, and equestrians.
But, we can’t complete this project without your help! Please consider a year-end gift so that this vision will become a reality for our community.
The trail system will be built in six phases with a total cost of $917,000. We have obtained the appropriate permissions for the first phase of the project, two miles of trails with improvements to the two existing parking areas on State land.
We have several grants pending and now we need your help to raise $60,000 in matching dollars so that we can begin construction as early as this summer!
Several SCLT members have generously pledged to match your gift dollar for dollar up to $30,000 if you make a gift by December 31st. We need 150 people to give a t least $200 to reach our goal.
Thank you for your consideration. We truly would not be able to pursue exciting projects like this without people like you. We wish you a very happy holiday season!
