Summer Saturdays are the perfect time to visit the SCLT Welcome Center.

Open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Welcome Center offers a great starting point for a weekend adventure at the SCLT Big Goose Natural Area. Whether you’re a longtime Sheridan resident, a newcomer, or hosting out-of-town guests, it’s an easy way to spend a few hours exploring one of the community’s newest outdoor destinations.

Inside, you’ll find exhibits highlighting local conservation projects, recreation opportunities, and stories from Sheridan County’s past. The exhibits continue to evolve, so there is always something new to see.

After your visit, step outside and enjoy the 117-acre Big Goose Natural Area. Walk more than two miles of trails, spend time along Big Goose Creek, try your luck fishing, watch for wildlife, or simply enjoy a peaceful morning outdoors. If you’re bringing your dog, designated off-leash trails provide a place for four-legged companions to stretch their legs and explore.

History lovers can also stop by to check on the restoration of Ol’ #115, Wyoming’s last remaining streetcar. Thanks to strong community support, restoration work is underway, and visitors can see firsthand how this important piece of Sheridan history is being preserved for future generations.

The Welcome Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but summer Saturdays offer a special opportunity to make a visit part of your weekend plans. Pack a picnic, bring the family, invite a friend, and come discover everything happening at the SCLT Big Goose Natural Area.

We look forward to seeing you this summer. Plan your visit today. Visit https://sheridanclt.org/sclt-big-goose-natural-area/.
