Sheridan, WY – The Sheridan Community Land Trust (SCLT) has received a $7,000 grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation to support its mission of conserving land, connecting people to the outdoors, and preserving the stories that define Sheridan County.
Unlike project-specific funding, the grant provides flexible support that allows SCLT to direct resources where they are needed most. The funding will help sustain conservation efforts, trail stewardship, outdoor education programs, historic preservation projects, volunteer initiatives, and public access opportunities that benefit residents and visitors across the county.
For twenty years, SCLT has worked alongside landowners, volunteers, donors, and community partners to conserve working ranches, improve access to outdoor recreation, restore wildlife habitat, preserve local history, and provide educational opportunities that connect people to the places that make Sheridan County special.
“General operating support is one of the most valuable investments a nonprofit can receive because it helps strengthen every aspect of our mission,” said Brad Bauer, Executive Director of the Sheridan Community Land Trust. “This grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation helps us respond to opportunities, address community needs, and continue delivering meaningful conservation, recreation, and history programs throughout Sheridan County. We are grateful for their partnership and commitment to Wyoming communities.”
The grant will help support a wide range of ongoing work, from maintaining and improving trails and public access areas to conserving working lands, restoring historic resources like Streetcar Ol’ #115, and providing free educational programs that connect people with the region’s landscapes, wildlife, and history.
