Got an idea for Sheridan County’s future? Sheridan Community Land Trust (SCLT) wants to hear it!
Whether it’s a small improvement or a big project, SCLT is asking community members to share ideas for what the nonprofit might take on next. And they’re making it easy with a survey that asks just one question: What’s one project, opportunity or challenge you’d like SCLT to consider?
There’s a little history behind the effort, too. SCLT started in 2006 following a community needs survey of Sheridan County residents. Twenty years later, SCLT is carrying on that same spirit of community involvement by asking residents to share their ideas for what could come next.
“SCLT started because people in Sheridan County saw opportunities and wanted to make something happen,” said SCLT Executive Director Brad Bauer. “Some of our best projects have come from people bringing us ideas and asking, ‘What if?’ We’re excited to see what people come up with.”
The survey welcomes ideas involving conservation, working lands, open space, land stewardship, trails, outdoor recreation, and preserving and sharing Sheridan County’s history.
There’s no need to have all the details figured out. SCLT wants to hear about opportunities, challenges and possibilities that might not even be on its radar yet.
“We can’t promise we’ll take on every idea, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear it,” Bauer said. “Big projects, small improvements, or something we haven’t thought of yet. You never know what might lead to something great for our community.”
Dream big. Dream small. We are listening to it all!
