Sheridan Community Land Trust is excited to announce its next Discovery Session: Hiking is For the Birds, which will be held Saturday morning, September 12.
Join avid birder Tina Toth as she takes attendees on a hike along Hidden Hoot Trail where we’ll spend the morning scanning the trees, sage, wetlands and skies in search of as many feathered friends as we can find. Tina will share her passion for passerines and an eagle eye for all things Aves with attendees, along with tips and tricks to help you spot more birds when you’re out or to find great local locations to bird if you’re new to the activity.
Tina is the treasurer and previous vice president of the Bighorn Audubon Society, serves as admin for the club’s Facebook page and is the creator/admin of the Facebook group Wyoming Bird. In April, she led SCLT’s inaugural Discovery Session, a webinar about spring birding in Sheridan County.
This Discovery Session will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m. Please meet at Black Tooth Park (follow W 5th St to west edge of Sheridan). Attendees are asked to wear hiking footwear and bring water. Binoculars encouraged but not required.
This family-friendly event is free, open to the public and does not require advanced registration.
Due to the close nature of birding, masks are required for this Discovery Session. SCLT will have a limited supply of masks if you forget yours.
