SCLT Discovery Session: Trail Running Mechanics – Wednesday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 21

Join Dr. Brandon Kelley, D.C., owner of Sheridan Spine & Sports Medicine for a run along scenic Hidden Hoot Trail. Brandon will teach you the basics of running technique, form, nutrition/hydration and recovery as part of a group run. What Brandon teaches you can be used wherever you go. Beginner/Intermediate runners encouraged; all skill levels welcome to come learn and run at your own pace. Meet at Black Tooth Park at 5:45 p.m. (follow 5th Street to the west edge of Sheridan). Clinic will start at 6 p.m. Please bring adequate footwear and water.

The Sheridan Community Land Trust will host a “First Tracks Volunteer Dig” worknight on Wednesday, June 17. Volunteers will help finish tread on a portion of SCLT’s newest trail – The Link, which will be part of the Soldier Ridge Trail System. As a reward, volunteers will have an opportunity to put the “first tracks” on a portion of The Link. Along with digging and raking the trail, volunteers will be packing the trail surface. SCLT Discovery Session: Trail Riding Technique & Tips – Friday, June 12 and Tuesday, June 23

Join SCLT board member Caryn Moxey for a fun-filled ride on Hidden Hoot Trail. Caryn will teach you all the tips and tricks that will let you roll with the flow of trails like Hidden Hoot, Red Grade and beyond. Beginner/Intermediate mountain bikers encouraged; all skill levels welcome to come and ride at your own pace. Meet at Black Tooth Park at 5:45 p.m. (follow 5th Street to the west edge of Sheridan). Ride will start at 6 p.m. and last about 2 hours. Helmets required.

On February 12, the Sheridan Community Land Trust was honored to be named this year’s Key Service Award recipient at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce’s awards banquet.
