Steve Dudley teaches proper technique with a hand saw.

Shovels and Spades on Red Grade Trails was the best! Steve Dudley, a local naturalist, led this event. He showed us the SCLT tool trailer and then gave us a briefing on some native and non-native plants along the trail. Then we grabbed some tools and head out on the trails to prep the grade for winter. We snipped branches and snags, pulled invasive species, and raked the slope so that water can drain off the trail in more areas.  Thank you, Steve, for teaching us all about trails and plants and the unique Red Grade ecosystem for a couple of hours in the October sunshine! We learned so much!
